Nampa is home to inviting parks with all types of amenities, such as playgrounds, sports fields, water fun, trails and picnic areas.
So, get ready to burn some energy and have a good time at these family centric parks in Nampa.
Optimist Park is more than a place for play, sports and picnics. Throughout the summer, Optimist Park hosts free movie night as part of an ongoing series, Silver Screen on the Green.
In addition, the park has everything you need to run and have a good time. From various sporting fields, open play areas and playground equipment, there’s something for everyone at the park.
Nampa Little League had its hand in the park’s planning, too. Several years ago, the league built two baseball fields, so children had access to multiple sporting fields.
Founded in 1974, this established 44-acre park is packed with picnic areas, wide-open green space, sports facilities and playgrounds that are all-inclusive for children of all abilities. The park has a softball complex and additional fields, where adults and children from various leagues gather for organized recreation. The field’s playing surface is ideal and inviting.
Park visitors can also pass time on the sand and play volleyball, shoot some hoops on the basketball courts, toss discs on the 9-hole disc golf course and try their luck on the horseshoe pits.
If you love to relax and open up a book or listen to music underneath a canopy of shade, Hunter Park is for you.
This one-acre neighborhood park features towering trees that provide a whole lot of shaded area. There’s also plenty of open space, a basketball court and recently installed playground with slides and climbing apparatuses.
Stop by and smell the roses and stay a while at Lakeview Water Park. The scenic space has a rose garden, plenty of sports area, an aquatic center and historical displays.
Located on Seventh Street, the park cannot be missed. From the beach-like entry to the two-story water slide, Lakeview Water Park will keep you and your entire family entertained for hours, especially during the warmer summer months.
About 15 years ago, Nampa acquired more than 50 acres of land with the hopes of transforming it into a multi-use park for everyone who visits. That’s exactly what Midway Park turned out to be. Located on Midway road and Smith Avenue, it offers four baseball and softball fields, six pickleball courts, a large, covered picnic area, an outdoor fitness gym and soccer field.
Younger children will have a blast on the large playground with swings, slides, spinners and climbers. Park officials say there are plans for expansion. The city hopes to have basketball courts, a splash pad and more by this summer.

Wilson Creek Park
Venture out into a wooded area with trails at Wilson Creek Park.
Developed more than two decades ago, the park lets visitors enjoy playgrounds alongside a beautiful outdoor setting that’s perfect for watching quail and other birds. There’s an easy trail access point to the Wilson Creek Pathway.
Take a walk along the Grimes Pathway at Sunset Oak Park. There’s access to the pathway in both directions. The picture-perfect space was developed more than 30 years ago on more than two acres of land.
Families will find plenty of room to run and play. There’s open area, playground equipment and a basketball court.
Children love to swing and climb on the playground at Orah Brandt Park, which is a relatively new park in the area and will be built out in phases. Today, the park welcomes all children to join in on the fun on the inclusive playground and its swings, climbing areas and slides.
This summer, families can look forward to seeing a new addition at the park: a splash pad that will shoot out spraying fountains during the warmer months.
Once the park is fully constructed, it will have a 9-hole disc golf course, more playground space, amphitheater, swimming pool, covered picnic areas and much more.
